- Amid coronavirus worries, residents in the area feared that the masks may have been contaminated
- Many netizens also expressed their dismay at such a low act of commercialism, preying on the helplessness of the poor

Photos, along with a stern warning, were shared on the Facebook group Carmona! Mahal naming Bayan group, where it showed that the filler of a pillow was actually used face masks.
The group's member who shared the photos was Jovelyn Sarmiento Gabelo.

She said that people should be careful in buying P50 cheap pillows being sold by ambulant vendors as they found out that the fill was used face masks.
She claimed that her neighbors were able to buy but were aghast to find out the contents. Many of the residents, as well as the netizens expressed their fear that the used face masks may have been contaminated.

Face masks have become a part of the new normal. However, there also came so many issues along with it becoming a part of the regular getup of a citizen in everyday life. A netizen warned the public about a modus, which involved buying used face masks but would recycle and re-sell them again.
The Department of Transportation has said that all passengers of public transport are required to wear face masks and also face shield. Malls and other public places with indoor settings have also required the use of masks.
