Jamir Garcia, the frontman of Slapshock, made headlines after he was found dead in his house in Project 8, Quezon City.
KAMI learned that some of the hosts of the ABS-CBN noontime program “It’s Showtime” took to social media to pay tribute to the late rock star.
They include Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, and Jhong Hilario, who expressed their sorrow after one of the most popular rock stars in the country passed away.
Teddy even wrote a prayer to God, asking Him to heal the broken hearts of those who are grieving over the tragedy.
Teddy Corpuz: “Lord bigyan mo kami ng lakas para makayanan ito. Di namin alam kung paano pero alam namin Your strength is made perfect in our weakness. Heal our broke hearts right now Lord.”
Jugs Jugueta: “Sending prayers to Jamir Garcia and his family. #RIPJamir”
Jhong Hilario: “RIP brother. #RIPJamir”
Jamir Garcia was the frontman of the Filipino rock band Slapshock, known for intense songs such as “Agent Orange,” “Wake Up,” and “Numb.’ He took his own life and was found dead at the age of 42 on November 26.
Many celebrities have taken to social media to share their reaction over Jamir’s death. Chito Miranda admitted that he used to dislike Jamir but warmed up to him as years passed by due to the latter’s kindness, talent, and hard work.
As for Kean Cipriano, he reflected on the good characteristics of Jamir. Kean said that Jamir used to give him valuable pieces of advice about life and career that he still remembers to this day.
