Alyana Asistio, daughter of Nadia Montenegro, exclusively talked to KAMI about her family’s experience during last week’s Typhoon Ulysses.
According to Alyana, her family lost a lot of possessions due to the flooding caused by the said typhoon.
“Marami rami po ang mga nawala tulad ng mga clothes, kama ng mga kapatid ko po lahat ng mga lamesa at food namin na napasukan ng tubig sa ilalim ng mga freezer po.
“Pinakamalala siguro po yung wala kaming magawa para matigil yung pag agos ng tubig po. We were just staring at how the water was slowly breaking and moving all our stuff,” Alyana told KAMI.
When asked where she and her family members are drawing strength from amid the ordeal, Alyana shared that the sources of their strength are God and each other.
“Sa Diyos po. Sa mga kapatid ko at kay mama. We were used to helping in situations like this. First time na kami. It’s really hard and heartbreaking but again, we have a God who provides and doesn’t get tired of teaching us lessons and allowing us to learn and be better everyday po,” she explained.
Fortunately, things have gotten better for their family and everyone is safe from harm.
“Mas maluwag at magaan na po ang situation namin lahat nagyon compared to the last 3 days po. Thankful naman po kay God kasi wala pong nasaktan,” Alyana said.
Alyana Asistio is an actress best known for appearing on “She's Dating the Gangster (2014),” “Everyday I Love You (2015)” and “Mama's Girl (2018).” Her parents are actress Nadia Montenegro and late politician Boy Asistio, who died in 2017 at the age of 80 while in a coma.
In a previous report by KAMI, Nadia Montenegro went viral due to her heartbreaking social media posts. One of her posts is a video of her crying while talking about losing her possessions due to Typhoon Ulysses.
Aside from Nadia, there were other celebrities who also got negatively affected by the typhoon. Daniel Matsunaga showed a video of his family struggling after a part of their house got damaged by the strong wind and rain.
