The police chief of San Jose police station in Northern Samar died after his femoral artery, a major vein found on the thigh, was hit by the rooster's blade during a raid of an illegal cockfighting session.

Police Lieutenant Christian Bolok, in GMA's Balitambayan report, tried to pick up the rooster to include it as among the evidence, but he was struck by the animal on the thigh.

Provincial Police Chief Colonel Arnel Apud said that in his 25 years of being a policeman, it was the first time that he lost a man because of a fighting cock.

In Bomboradyo's report, fellow policemen tried to bring Bolok to the hospital, but he did not make it, as he already bled to death.
