According to Angelica, many fans of Yaya Dub bashed her because they wanted to protect their celebrity idol.

She explained that she got hurt emotionally by the bashers since did not want to compete with Maine at all.

“What happened to me next, ‘yun naman ang pinakamalala kasi nu’n napunta naman ako sa noontime show, lahat din ng tao ulit, for the third time, galit na naman sila. Let’s put it this way, ‘yung parehas na noontime show, nagtatapat talaga ‘yan para sa ratings. Ako ‘yun napunta dito, may nauna na sa kabila.
“Yung may mga gusto du’n sa kabila, galit naman sila sa saken kasi mas gusto nila ‘yung kabila. So since ang dami dami dami ng may gusto du’n sa kabila, ang dami rin ibig sabihin ng may galit saken kahit wala akong ginagawa. Ayaw nilang may sumuporta saken. Gusto lang nila, du’n lang sumuporta sa kabila. And I understand kasi nga, ganu’n naman talaga ‘pag mga fans, ‘di ba? Lagi nating pinoprotektahan ‘yung idol natin.

“Kaya nga lang, ang masakit du’n, hindi mo naman kasi kinakalaban. Para silang nagpo-protekta sa isang tao na hindi mo naman inaano,” Angelica said.

Angelica Jane Yap, born on April 16, 1994, first drew attention on social media after she uploaded her "hugot" video, "Paano gumawa ng pastillas?" She later appeared on TV and guested on the Kapamilya program, "It's Showtime," as "Pastillas Girl” to rival the Maine Mendoza’s “Yaya Dub” storyline on “Eat Bulaga.”

She recently caused some buzz online when she defended her boyfriend, rapper Flow G. The hip-hop artist was accused by many netizens of plagiarizing K-Pop band’s song, “Ddaeng.” According to Angelica, she is sure that the said K-Pop song did not influence Flow G’s track, “Deym.”
