Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque shared his experience as he visited Boracay recently.

KAMI learned that Roque was saved by a lifeguard when he was swimming at the beach.

In an interview on DZMM TeleRadyo, Roque explained that the waves were so calm that he did not feel the current and he was not able to notice that he already got for away.

"Napakakalma ng alon, langoy lang ako nang langoy, hindi ko nararamdaman iyong current, napakalayo ko na,” Roque said.

So, sinave ako ng lifeguard. Maraming salamat sa lifeguard,” he added.

The Presidential Spokesperson also encouraged the Filipinos to visit Boracay as it opened to tourists last October 1.

"Kung hindi po tayo bibisita sa Boracay, number one mami-miss natin iyong world’s best tropical beach at number 2, wala pong hanapbuhay ang mga taga-Boracay,” Roque mentioned.

Recently, the photos of Roque in Boracay went viral on social media.

Born on October 21, 1966, Harry Roque is a Filipino lawyer and former college professor. He was appointed to the Palace spokesperson in 2017 and then left in 2018. In 2020, he was reappointed again.

Months ago, Roque went viral after he visited the famous Ocean Adventure in Subic amid community quarantine. He explained that he did not violate any quarantine protocols.
