A story of a young couple who recently celebrated their 16th anniversary has captured the hearts of netizens after they shared the story behind their latest milestone on social media.

Ricca Cruz Del Rosario, the owner of the local brand HTP Clothing, recently took to social media to greet her ex-boyfriend turned husband Lionel Del Rosario a happy anniversary.

In her online post, KAMI learned that the young entrepreneur shared her and her husband's humble beginnings before they managed to get a house of their own.

According to Ricca, she thought it was impossible for them before to get a house together, "After many years of dreaming and renting (not 1 but 3 apartments), we finally made it!

"Akala natin dati imposible na magkaroon ng sariling bahay. Naiinggit tayo sa ibang mag-asawa na may minanang bahay, lupa at negosyo sa mga magulang nila."

She also shared in her online post that she and Lionel have been together since they were 4th-year high school students.

"4th year high school tayo nung naging tayo. Kahit bata pa tayo, nangangarap na tayo ng masayang pamilya someday, magandang trabaho, kotse at magandang bahay."

Ricca then went on to write about the hardships she and her husband faced after they got married.

"Nung 24 years old na tayo, nabuntis ako. 9 years na tayong mag-bf-gf nito, matagal na rin kaya hindi na nag-dalawang isip na magpakasal. Hindi tayo prepared, walang ipon kahit katiting pero pinilit pa rin ang church wedding. Ipinangutang natin ‘yon.

"Pagkatapos ng kasal natin, simot na simot tayo, ultimo yung mga pakimkim ng mga Ninong at Ninang at ng mga bisita ay naipambayad natin sa wedding suppliers. Hahaha grabe ang lakas ng loob natin ‘no?

"Kung nagkataon na may isang bisita pala na hindi umattend, mababawasan ang pakimkim natin at may hindi tayo mababayaran. Paano kaya tayo mag-eexplain sa catering na kulang ang pera natin? Hahaha."

Ricca ended her post by sharing to the online community that she now has a house together with her husband and their three children, "May bahay na po kami sa wakas! Salamat po sa lahat ng naka-suporta sa amin simula noon."
