Google PH explains fate of Lloyd Cadena and Emman Nimedez’s YouTube channels

Lloyd Cadena and Emman Nimedez were two of the most popular and admired YouTube content creators in the Philippines.

However, a few weeks ago, they already breathed their last. Lloyd succumbed to heart attack on the first week of September, while the other vlogger died of leukemia.

KAMI learned that there are people who wonder about the fate of the YouTube channels of the said personalities now that they are already gone.

The 26-year-old content creator left his channel with more than 5 million subscribers, while Emman’s account has 2.7 million subscribers as of this writing.

Through a virtual event on Thursday, Gabby Roxas of Google Philippines explained what will happen to accounts of deceased vloggers.

He stated that the loved ones of Lloyd and Emman can go to YouTube help center to request for access to the late vloggers’ channels.

“They were creators that are very close to our hearts. It still affects me personally,” Roxas initially quipped.

“The loved ones have the option they can request, they can go to the help center to access the account,” he added.

Google may also follow the deceased vloggers’ plan as indicated in the “Inactive Account Manager” feature.

If they did not put a specific instruction on their accounts before they died, Google can help family members to close the vloggers’ accounts.

“We cannot provide passwords or other login details. Any decision to satisfy a request about a deceased user will be made only after a careful review,” Roxas also mentioned.

The sudden death of Lloyd Cadena and Emman Nimedez had caused great sadness among people in the online world. They were considered two of the most favorite vloggers in the country.

The emotional tribute of “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” for Lloyd was able to touch the hearts of many netizens. It even became trending on YouTube.

Several videos at Emman’s burial also melted the hearts of his supporters. He was finally laid to rest on August 23.
