Veteran broadcast journalist Noli de Castro confirmed that he is staying with the ABS-CBN Network and said that he is a “Kapamilya" forever.
KAMI learned that Noli took a swipe at the government and former Kapamilya stars following the ABS-CBN shutdown.
In a YouTube video of ABS-CBN News, Noli explained that he is the real “Kapamilya Forever” because he stayed with ABS-CBN when it started after martial law and now that it faced closure.
“Nagsimula ako dito nang magsimula ang ABS-CBN after ng martial law,” Noli said.
“Oh, martial law na naman at nandito pa rin ako — ay 'di pala martial law ‘yun,” he teased.
The former Vice President also mentioned that there were some Kapamilya who did not mean it when they said “forever.”
“Totoo ang sinasabi ko na ‘Kapamilya’ forever. ‘Yung iba eh nagsasabi, hindi naman pala forever. Wala namang forever kasi, oo,” he joked.
Born on July 6, 1949, Noli de Castro is a well-known journalist, news anchor, and radio host in the Philippines. He also served as the Vice President of the country in 2004, under former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
The farewell speech of Noli on TV Patrol before ABS-CBN officially signed off went viral on social media. He announced that the franchise of ABS-CBN was not renewed by the government.
Four months ago, the National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order against ABS-CBN while its franchise renewal was still pending in Congress at that time.
