Karen Davila is back as one of the anchors of “TV Patrol.”
KAMI learned that the veteran broadcast-journalist officially replaces Ted Failon who exited the show a few weeks ago.
Failon signed a contract with TV5 amid the shutdown issue of the Kapamilya network. He left Bernadette Sembrano and Noli de Castro as anchors of the news program.
To fill in the vacant position, Karen was tapped to join Bernadette and Noli as anchors. They can be watched through the Kapamilya channel and the social media pages of ABS-CBN.
On Wednesday evening, “TV Patrol” trended on Twitter because of the comeback of the award-winning journalist.
It has been 10 years since she last became one of the anchors of the top-rating news program in the country.
“Sa totoo lang, kinakabahan at nininerbyos ako nung una. I haven’t done #TVPatrol in 10 years and I haven’t done #Bandila in almost 7 months. I was last in TV Patrol 2004-2010 with Julius & Ted then moved to Bandila from 2010-2020 with Julius & Ces,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Noong nagkaroon ng COVID, the late-night newscast went off air mid-March for safety reasons... hanggang sa tuluyan nang hindi na-renew ang franchise. But look how God works. Eto at nakapag-sit in pa ako tonight! Talaga naman si Lord, puro surprise. Taking it one day at a time,” she added.
