Ogie Alcasid sadly announced on social media that his father, Hermino Alcasid Sr., has passed away already.
KAMI learned that the prominent singer made the revelation through an Instagram post on Tuesday, September 15.
The “Tawag ng Tanghalan” judge did not disclose the cause of his dad’s death, but he admitted that his heart is grieving because of what happened.
Ogie also stated that he loves Alcasid Sr. very much and he will miss him now that he is already in heaven.
“I will miss you so much Dad,” he wrote.
“My heart grieves knowing you are gone but I am at peace because you are in the loving arms of our Father in heaven. I love you so much Daddy,” he added.
The singer’s dad was a lawyer who served as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Philippine National Oil Development and Management Corporation.
Many celebrities expressed their words of sympathy to Ogie and the bereaved family of Alcasid Sr. because of the unfortunate incident.
“So sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences,” Pops Fernandez said.
“Prayers to you and your whole family. May your dad Rest In Peace,” Richard Gomez also commented.

Ogie Alcasid is one of the most respected Original Pilipino Music (OPM) singers. He is the husband of “Asia’s Songbird” Regine Velasquez.
He recently reacted to the statement of ABS-CBN about laying off its employee because of the shutdown issue.
