Ted Failon shared his thoughts on the people who criticize the news headlines of ABS-CBN amid the network’s franchise renewal crisis.

KAMI learned that Failon said on the final episode of “Failon Ngayon sa TeleRadyo” that the reason why some people get offended by the headlines is they do not like that the network tries to expose corruption and abuses in the government.

According to the journalist, the network’s news department is exposing the truth to the public and that is why it is being silenced.

He also emphasized that news organizations should have independence and not be pressured to be silent regarding government officials’ abuses of power.

Aside from Failon, other ABS-CBN journalists and reporters have also lost their jobs because of the franchise renewal crisis of the network. Among them is Bernadette Sembrano, who confirmed her retrenchment as a field reporter for ABS-CBN.

Reporter Ces Drilon also lost her job in the network and is now focusing on her passion for farming and living a simpler life.

Ted Failon is a Filipino radio and television broadcast journalist and former politician. He served as a representative of the 1st district of Leyte from 2001 to 2004. Failon is best known for being a newscaster on TV Patrol and his show Failon Ngayon.
