- A student has gone viral as she showed her dedication to her studies by selling fish in order for her to buy a cellphone for her online class
- She would walk more than one kilometer in order for her to be able to sell fish
- Normally, she would just borrow from anyone who can lend her a smartphone when her classes start
- She also finds it hard to cope with the subjects because she can't even search what needs to be searched
A Grade 12 student from Rosario, Cavite has captured the attention of netizens after she went out of her way to sell fish just to be able to buy a cellphone.
Twitter user Dennis Datu, shared the story and photos of Ella Mae Fernando.
As per ABS-CBN's report, she would walk more than one kilometer in order for her to be able to sell fish.
"Nahihirapan po ako maghabol ng subject, hindi ko po ma-search ang kailangang i-search, sariling sikap na lang," said Ella.
For every bag of fish, she earns between P5 to P10 and as of writing, she has accumulated P600 and still has a long way to go.
The shift to an online class has gotten many students scrambling either for a good phone or for a good signal.
Stories such as this never fail to touch the hearts of many. At times though, not everything that goes viral is positive. A netizen warned the public about a modus, which involved buying used face masks but would recycle and re-sell them again.
The Department of Transportation has said that all passengers of public transport are required to wear face masks and also face shield.
