Presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte announces his desire to take his formal oath of office in Malacañang with the goal to cut off usual and extraordinary expenses that will be made in the ceremony.
He also said to the media that he is to serve only finger foods for the guests and deliver his inauguration speech for five (5) short minutes.
"Doon na lang (Malacanang) kasi wala nang gastos. May finger food lang siguro because it's nearing noontime, but there will be no eating after. Before lang, tapos mag-oath ako. Then I will go nationwide on TV and then I will just spell out my governance in five minutes," the mayor said.
He added that it is not necessary for him to practice for the inaugural.
"What's going around is that mag-practice kami dito, turuan nila ako ng protocol sa proclamation. Sabi ko, hindi mo na ako kailangan turuan, alam ko na. Ituro mo lang kung saan ako magtindig," iron-fisted Duterte said.
Since Duterte is presently in Davao City, he said that he will “go there (Palace) on the day of my oath of office, not before."
"Pag na-delay 'yung flight, walang oath-taking, bahala kayo diyan," he added.
Also, the mayor is already planning for his outfit, as he is searching for a barong made of cotton.
He also intends to maintain a two-car security set-up.
"Ayaw ko 'yung magsunod-sunod sa akin. Gusto ko isang. I've been used to only two cars. Alam ng media ng Davao 'yan. I'd like to maintain it that way," he said, expressing his refusal to be followed by security escorts.
He expressed his plans to hold office as president in Davao City.
"Wala na akong balak bumalik sa Manila. Dalhin na lang nila dito ang papirmahan, okay naman siguro dito. Dito, baka this is one of the oldest houses sa Davao. Pre-war pa ito," Duterte said.
During his oath-taking, the president-elect also promised a 5-minute speech and netizens expect him to talk on his promises of change, as shown in this video.
