TV host Willie Revillame has personally distributed P5 million donation to the jeepney drivers whose livelihood was affected by the COVID-19 crisis.
KAMI learned that the TV host worked with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for the distribution of the donation.
In a report by GMA News Online, Willie personally went to the office and helped in the distribution of financial assistance and sacks of rice.
The leaders of different transport groups went to the office to receive the donations. The financial aid per group was ranging from P200,000 to P1.5 million.
Some jeepney drivers who are not members of any transport also lined up at the LTFRB office to get some donations.
As mentioned in the Facebook post of LTFRB, the TV host vowed to donate another P5 million next month.
Willie Revillame is a famous host and recording artist in the Philippines. He is also one of the richest celebrities in the country.
Earlier, Willie vowed to donate P5 million to the jeepney drivers who were not allowed to operate during the community quarantine.
He also explained his side after a news site called his virtual conference with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque a “hijack.”
Recently, the TV host talked about “Eat Bulaga” and the trio of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon while he was hosting “Tutok to Win.”
