Boy Abunda aired a message for his friends in the Congress who voted against the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.
KAMI learned that the popular TV host has had good relationship with many Filipino lawmakers such as Mike Defensor and Martin Romualdez.
He initially stated that he completely opposes the decision of his solon friends to not grant the media giant another 25-year franchise.
However, Boy pointed out that he can live with differing opinions. He does not believe that having a different stand on certain issues affects friendships.
He also revealed that he wants to have a private conversation with his friends in the Congress who voted against ABS-CBN.
“I totally dissent, I passionately oppose his stand, I was deeply hurt by his vote, and to this very moment, I grieve. But I can live with differing opinions…. It’s not tantamount to ‘I’m not gonna talk to you forever because you don’t believe in the causes I believe in.’ Hindi ako ganoon…” he quipped.
“But does it diminish the pain that I feel? No. I’m still in pain. And I want them to know… I’m hurt. I lost a job. But I cannot unfriend a friend simply because you think differently from me… I look forward to a quiet conversation with Mike, with my friends who votes against ABS-CBN. I’d like to understand where they were coming from,” he added.
