During the episode of "Tutok To Win" on Monday, Willie explained that he did not “hijack” the press briefing of Roque.

He shared that he was invited by the Presidential Spokesperson to announce and thank him for his P5 million donation to jeepney drivers whose livelihood was affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

“Mayroon pong lumabas na write-up. Ito po eh galing sa Rappler at mayroon pong sinabi don na ako daw ho ay nag-hijack o bilang I stole the show,” Willie said.

The report of Ranada has a headline: “Willie Revillame hijacks Roque press briefing to promote charity, GMA7 show.”

According to Willie, the Palace requested from him to use his studio because the studios owned by the government were temporarily closed because of COVID-19 cases.

“Kami ho nag-ayos niya, early morning, para ho may magamit si Secretary Roque,” he said.

“Bumalik sila last Friday, nung last Friday po sabi niya, ‘Baka huling na naming itong araw, pwede bang lumabas ka lang para lang mapasalamatan kita ng personal’,” he explained.

However, the TV host shared that for him, the word “hijack” has a negative connotation.

“Never akong mangha-hijack. Kung pala ang hijack ay kabutihan, e, di mang-hijack na lang tayo, kung magbibigay ang hijacker ng five million,” he said.

In response to the statement of Willie, Rappler reporter Pia Ranada took to social media her explanation.

“Hi Willie Revillame!

Pia also shared screenshots to show as proof that the word “hijack” has different meanings.
