Photos of a man cleaning the canal went viral after a netizen, Francis Jun, narrated how the man offered to clean the canal.
According to Francis, when he opened his store, the man approached him and asked if he could clean the canal.
Initially hesitant because he was normally the one cleaning the canal, he found that the man needed the money for his family.
Thus, he allowed the man. He said that while he may be cash-strapped, the man needed it for his family more.
"Ang aga may lumapit sa tindahan akala ko bibili nang tanungin ko kung ano po kailangan sabi nya pwede daw ba nya linisin ung kanal para daw may maiuwi sya sa pamilya nya mecq wala daw syang work, overgrown na planung mga damo. Auko sana kasi ako talaga maglilinis ng kanal sa tapat namin. Kaya lang naawa ako kay kuya kaya pumayag nalang ako. Kaya kung makaka abot sainyo si kuya at makiusap. Sana pagbigyan nyo na para makatulong nmn. Mahirap lang din ako. Asa lang din pero alam ko mas mahirap kalagayan ni kuya. Hindi cguro nya gagawin yan kung di langbtalaga kailangan......kayo na bahala sa kanya."
