A surprising video showing a group of kids on the playground paying respect for the flag and country has become viral. The video was taken by a mother on the playground at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
The mother, Danielle Tomei Davila, took the video of her kids with their friends playing at the playground. But when the patriotic musical piece called “Colors” was played through the speakers – which happens daily at the Marine base while the American flag is lowered – the children stood still to show their respect for the flag & country.
Many people who have watched the video were amazed at the level of discipline the kids have. They were also inspired with the kids’ respect for the flag and country and their sense of patriotism. Many commenters noted that most kids nowadays could not care less about patriotic symbols and music but the kids in the video seem to have been raised well.
“You did a fine job raising your children Marine. I was stationed there back in 72 and noticed the kids at that time were the same way. You should be very proud of them,” one viewer commented.
Danielle added that this has always been a part of her family’s military life. Although many modernists, socialists and progressives are usually against this kind of tradition, many Americans still feel that the flag should be seen as a symbol of liberty and freedom and that citizens – no matter how young or old – should pay respect to it.
How did you feel while watching the video of the disciplined children standing still to show respect for the American flag? Would you like your kids to be as patriotic as those children?
