Jake Cuenca is among those who expressed his support for ABS-CBN when the network was shut down.
Recently, he commented on the statement made by Sen. Cynthia Villar regarding frontliners, albeit, she retracted on it and clarified that her statement was not meant for frontliners, and that it was actually meant for government officials.
A basher, however, noticed this and responded to Jake with, "Agree with senator Villar. Di niyo ramdam ang hirap ng mga Pinoy dahil may mga ipon kayong mga artista."
Jake responded this way:
"Yes savings that we also use to help our frontliners, Kapamilyas and other Filipinos who are need. Rather than trolling maybe you should put your energy into helping other people instead."
The government faced problems when they imposed the initial community quarantine, which was elevated into enhanced community quarantine. It also suspended transportation causing massive problems with commuters.
Doctors have died after being infected by COVID-19. They are among the frontliners who attend to the patients rushing to hospitals amid pandemic.
