Matt Evans gets arrested for physical violence charges by ex-partner
- Matt Evans was recently arrested at his home in Manila on Friday, July 31 over his physical violence charges
- It can be noted that the said charges were made filed against him by his former live-in partner, Johnelline Hickins
- The actor, who was arrested back in October 2012 for the same charges, is said to have violated Republic Act 9262

Matt Evans was recently arrested on Friday, July, 31 at his home in Sampaloc, Manila over his 2012 physical violence charges.
It can be recalled that back in October 2012, the actor was first arrested for the same charges filed against him by his former live-in partner, Johnelline Hickins.
Following this news, KAMI learned that the actor has been arrested yet again and that his bail was set at Php 36,000.

According to the report done by Philstar (authored by Ludy Bermudo), the Manila Police District-Warrant and Subpoena Section (MPD-WSS) reported that the actor was arrested after Presiding Judge Carmencita Lacandazo Logan of the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 12 issued the arrest warrant.
The said warrant of arrest was filed against the actor after he violated Republic Act 9262 or the “Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004."
Back in October 2012, his former live-in partner's brother, Juan Alberto Carlotta, stood as a witness against the actor.
According to Juan, Matt and Johnelline had a heated argument which resulted in the latter falling down the stairs.
He then confronted Matt which eventually turned into a physical fight.
Juan even recounted that their fight escalated to the point that Matt allegedly threatened him with a knife.

Matt Evans is a Filipino-American actor who became famous after joining Pinoy Big Brother. He rose to fame after starring as Pedro Penduko back in Da Adventures of Pedro Penduko alongside Melissa Ricks.
His wife, Riza Katrina Evans made headlines in the past after she lost a whopping amount of Php 6,000,000 over a scam.
She was then arrested for estafa back in December 2019 after she was accused of committing fraud. Her bail was set at Php 30,000.
