Ogie Diaz has taken to social media to criticize Senator Cynthia Villar response to the medical frontliners call to place Metro Manila to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) anew due to continuous growth of COVID-19 cases.

KAMI learned that in a Facebook post, the actor and talent manager posted a screenshot from DWIZ Newscenter’s Twitter page showing the senator’s statement that reads:

"Villar sa panawagang balik-ECQ ng Metro Manila: Hindi nasiguro. Pagbutihin nila (medical frontliners) ang mga trabaho nila."
"Yes may time talaga in our lives na ikaw ay mapapagod. But I guess we have to work hard."
"Kailangan i-motivate natin ang ating Health department na maging passionate sila sa kanilang trabaho."

Ogie then lambasted the lawmaker by suggesting to her to visit hospitals.

“Dear Sen. Villar,” he begins.

“Kung may pagkakataon po kayo, dalawin nyo sa mga ospital ang ating mga frontliners, tapos, kausapin nyo po sila at tanungin kung ok ba sila? Ano ba ang problemang kaya nyo mismong i-provide o pwedeng ipanukala sa senado?
Wag ganito. Masakit po sa bangs. Hindi nyo alam na nakikipagpambuno sila kay Kamatayan sa kanilang sinumpaang tungkulin.
Be sensitive naman.
Wag na po nating hintayin yung kayo na po ang dapuan ng covid, tapos, mako-confine kayo sa ospital at kayo mismo ang makakasaksi kung gaano kahirap ang trabaho nilang dugtungan ang buhay nyo para lang maramdaman nilang malaki ang kinalaman nila kumbakit hindi kayo pinaglalamayan.”

According to Inquirer.net, Sen. Cynthia explained that people will die of hunger if Metro Manila will again be placed under ECQ.

“Hindi pwede isara ang ekonomiya kasi kung hindi mamamatay sa (COVID-19), mamatay sa gutom ang mga tao,” she said.
“Saka mag-bi-build din ng mga facility ang government na ito naman para sa asymptomatic at mild cases. Hindi naman lahat napunta sa ospital. Five percent lang nasa ospital.”

Ogie Diaz is an actor, comedian, and talent manager. One of the talents he manages is superstar actress Liza Soberano. He is also a cast member of the comedy series “Home Sweetie Home,” starring Toni Gonzaga.

Ogie likewise lambasted Filipino lawyer Ferdinand Topacio after his social media post “body-shaming” Angel Locsin went viral.
