Senator Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri has set the rumors straight after he was not able to physically attend the 5th State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday.
KAMI learned that the senator confirmed he tested positive for the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 once again.
In a Facebook post, Zubiri revealed that he tested negative for COVID-19 three times when he did a rapid test. However, his swab test showed that he has coronavirus again.
“To allay the rumors on why i was not able to attend the SONA presentation in the Batasan is because even after 3 rapid tests that showed that i was negative for Covid 19 but possessing antibodies with positive IGg,” he said.
“My swab test however showed that i was positive once more for covid,” he added.
The senator said that according to his doctors, it is possible that the test only detected the remnants of the coronavirus as he is a COVID-19 survivor.
“According to doctors it is possible that the test detected remnants of the dead virus cells in my body as i am a covid survivor,” the senator said.

Therefore, Zubiri decided to cancel his prior appointments and started going back to isolation as a safety measure.
“I decided to forgo any other appointments and head back to my isolation room for quarantine,” he wrote.
According to the senator, he is feeling well and he is not experiencing any symptoms. He will continue working from isolation.
“I feel absolutely fine, wala po akong nararamdaman at wala po akong mga symptomas,” he said.
“But it’s better to be safe and to keep everyone safe from this virus. And i will continue to work from isolation virtually until i get my consecutive negative results after quarantine,” he added.
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri was among the three senators who came forward and shared that they tested positive for the coronavirus disease. The two other senators were Senators Koko Pimentel and Sonny Angara.
About four months ago, Zubiri confirmed that he tested positive for COVID-19. However, he was also asymptomatic at that time.
Months after, he was able to recover and shared his experience as COVID-19 survivor. He also donated his plasma to help COVID-19 patients.
