Jennylyn Mercado fearlessly took a swipe at the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its reminder to rallyists during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte.
KAMI learned that the government agency told those who are planning to hold protests that mass gatherings are not allowed during the novel coronavirus pandemic.
It also mentioned that the dreadful virus spreads easily when there is crowd.
"We appeal to the rally organizers not to compromise the health and welfare of the people," Jonathan Malaya, the undersecretary and spokesperson of DILG, stated.
"We ask them not to be blind to the scientific evidence that mass gatherings are the fastest way for the virus to spread among their ranks which can then infect their families and ultimately their communities," he added.
