- The comedian lambasted those showbiz personalities who are “neutral” amid the franchise issue of the media giant
- According to John, Kapamilya celebs cannot remain “dedma” during this time of difficulty
John Lapus, known by many people as “Sweet,” did not hesitate to lambast his fellow celebrities who are “neutral” and not showing support for ABS-CBN.
KAMI learned that the said comedian aired his honest and frank opinion through a much-talked-about social media post yesterday, July 21.
He was evidently disappointed with prominent showbiz personalities in the Kapamilya network who do not voice out their stand about the issue.
Sweet pointed out that ABS-CBN stars cannot be “neutral” this time because their network, which also serves as their second home, is being attacked.
He also wrote an example of a simple statement that a celebrity can post so that people will see that he or she fully supports the media giant.
"Mga ineng, as simple as ‘Lord sana po mabigyan ng Franchise ang ABS-CBN’, pwde na. Kaso wala e!” he quipped.
“Hindi pwedeng dedma. Hindi pwedeng neutral. Kung dasal man, e mala ganyan sana. Simple lang. Nawalan TAYO ng network. Nawalan TAYO ng trabaho. Walang nilabag na batas abs-cbn. Napatunayan naman sa hearing. Naiintindihan nyo ba yon?” he added.
John Lapus is one of the most acclaimed comedians in the Philippines. He already starred in many movies including “Moron 5” and “Da Possessed.”
About a year ago, he responded to netizens’ unsolicited claims about the split of “DonKiss” love team.
The popular celebrity also reacted to the performance of Alden Richards in the blockbuster movie entitled “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
