ABS-CBN is one of the biggest networks in the Philippines. However, the National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order against the media giant while its franchise was still pending in Congress.
Last Friday, the House of Representatives officially rejected the franchise renewal of the ABS-CBN Network. 70 congressmen voted “yes” to deny the franchise renewal, while 11 lawmakers voted “no.”
The son of Malabon City Representative Jaye Lacson-Noel, Kito Noel, also condemned the vote of his own mother that contributed to the denied franchise.
