The Bulacan Provincial Health Office announced on Sunday that there is a surge of COVID-19 cases among minors.

KAMI learned that nine children were among the 23 new cases of COVID-19 in Bulacan.

In a Facebook post by GO Bulacan, it was reported that the nine children are aged five to 13 years old. They are from San Jose del Monte, Meycauayan, and Marilao.

It was also announced that as of July 12, there are 617 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bulacan. Meanwhile, 237 patients were able to recover.

Netizens are also urging their fellow Bulakenyos to follow the quarantine protocols to stop the further spread of coronavirus disease in the province.

“Dumadami na po ang nagpositibo sa virus, huwag po nating hintayin na lahat tayo ay maging biktima ng COVID-19. Sa lungsod ng San Jose Del Monte at sa bayan ng Marilao dumadami ang nagpositibo dahil maraming nag-uumpukang tao sa labasan na walang facemask at binalewala ang social distancing,” it read in the post.

“Ganun din ang makikita mo sa mga murang edad na mga kabataan habang naglalaro sa labas ng kanilang bahay,” it added.

Bulacan is a province located in the Central Luzon region. It can be found in the northern part of Metro Manila.

As of June 21, there were 47 medical frontliners who tested positive for COVID-19 in Bulacan. This includes eight doctors, 29 nurses, 10 barangay health workers, and radiology technicians.

A group of women also went viral for giving away free food to street dwellers amid the COVID-19 crisis in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
