Rita Avila just reacted to Gretchen Barretto's viral statement about the franchise renewal issue of ABS-CBN.

KAMI learned that Rita commented on Gretchen's Instagram post which was shared on July 10, Friday.

It can be recalled that Gretchen clarified that she never made any statement on the franchise renewal of the said network and emphasized that she is pro-Duterte.

Gretchen wrote, "THIS IS A FAKE TWITTER ACCOUNT!!! I Have Not made a single statement regarding congress & abs cbn."

Meanwhile, Rita replied to her post saying "You are right, no single statement made."

Apparently, some netizens assumed that Rita was being sarcastic with Gretchen's post since the latter is very vocal with her support for ABS-CBN.

Rita clarified in another comment that some netizens may have misinterpreted her post, "Hmmm, I think some didn’t get my comment right. I am supporting Gretchen for her truthful caption. Tutoo ang sinabi nya."

Rita Avila, or Josefina Pascual Yasto in real life, is a Filipina actress and author. She wrote a book called "8 Ways to Comfort with Grace" which centers on her sad moments when she and her husband lost their three-week-old son.

The actress recently made headlines when she made a comment about Angel Locsin's curvier figure.

She also commemorated her son Ellia Jesu's 13th birthday through a social media post in November 2019. Jesu died 13 years ago because of complications from heart surgery 3 weeks after he was born.
