ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak has issued a statement following the news that the House of Representatives rejected the franchise bid of the giant network on Friday, July 10.

His statement, giving words of encouragement to employees and supporters of the Kapamilya network, was also published on ABS-CBN’s various social media accounts.
ABS-CBN is one of the leading broadcast networks in the Philippines. Its 25-year franchise expired on May 4 and the Committee on Legislative Franchises of the House of Representatives officially rejected on July 10 its bid to secure another franchise.
A few weeks ago, Solicitor General Jose Calida claimed that the “end” is already fast-approaching for the said network.
The giant media network also revealed that the company continues to lose millions in daily advertising revenues due to its broadcast shutdown and the current pandemic.
