“In the last 24 hours alone, I have read a lot of news articles in the newspaper and social media about different news about the upcoming polling for ABS-CBN franchise.

“Press freedom is alive but it is also the responsibilty of our journalists to deliver the truth. I read something that is being helped to pressure our fellows to vote against ABSCBN but it's all accusation and there's no credible source. There is still a list that has been released by the vote of Congressmen even though it is very clear that there is no poll happening yet. Why use unverified information? Do not mislead the public.

“More than two weeks ago, someone called us, introduced ABS CBN emissions and encouraged us to vote in favor of ABS CBN in exchange for 200 Million pesos. My answer is simple, my principles and votes are not for sale. Did I get it out of the media? No. Because we are not sure if ABS CBN's emissaries and it's unfair that ABS CBN's name will be placed in awkward because of him and it's also unfair to be in the proceedings of the Joint Committee that discusses the issue of their franchise. We heard other cases like this but we didn't release it because those information was not verified.
“Press freedom is very alive in the country until the point of being abused for the personal interest of the few. We have a lot of media friends who are balanced and high level and integrity of writing and news. But it's just that there are few who weigh more bias and don't care if the news is right. Do not mislead the public. They deserve to know the truth,” Yap stated.
