Journalist and COVID-19 survivor Howie Severino was reportedly apprehended by barangay and police officers for putting down his mask to drink water.
KAMI learned that Severino was asked to attend a seminar on the proper use of face masks in public at the Amoranto Stadium.
In a Facebook post by Luis Liwanag, it can be seen that Severino was on his bicycle when he was questioned by the authorities.
“Journalist Howie Severino who momentarily pulled down his mask for a drink, is apprehended by barangay officers and police and was brought to the Amoranto Stadium for a short seminar on proper use of face masks in public,” it said in the post.
It was also mentioned in the post that in the seminar, there were about a hundred people including women and the elderly.
Howie Severino is a well-known news anchor, journalist, and documentarist. He is popular for his documentaries on i-Witness.
Months ago, Severino revealed that he was Patient 2828 who got infected by the deadly coronavirus disease. He also made a documentary about his recovery.
He was also one of the Kapuso stars who aired their thoughts regarding the cease and desist order issued against the ABS-CBN Network.
