Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto gave his "State of the City Address" on July 2.
The young mayor was very proud when he announced that the city incurred a savings of P414.7 million since October 2019.
According to the Mayor, they have proper bids and awards committee.
He also underscored that they were able to achieve it because no money went inside his pocket.
"Nagagawa rin po natin ‘to dahil walang perang napupunta sa bulsa ko."
He also recounted that there was even someone who brought P2 million in his office so as to speed up their business permit, but he stood pat and refused the money.
"Alam po ninyo na may mga ibang lumapit sa akin, may dala-dalang pera. Tinanggihan ko po ‘yon dahil ‘yun po ang pangako ko sa taong bayan. Mayroon pong nagdala sa opisina ko ng P2 million para mapabilis; yung approval ng kanyang permit. Hindi po natin pinansin ‘yon."
Ai-Ai delas Alas praised Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto for doing a great job in the city's response to the pandemic. She also praised Mayor Isko Moreno, Mayor Francis Zamora, and Mayor Marcelino Teodoro.
Vic Sotto celebrated his birthday and when Vico greeted him, the comedian poked fun at his son over the latter's Zoom incident where an image of a man appeared out of nowhere while he was video conferencing.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto is the son of actor, comedian, Vic Sotto and actress Coney Reyes. He is among the youngest officials of the country and one of the most well-loved.
