‘90s matinee idol Wowi de Guzman has shared on how he became a full-time Zumba instructor now that there is still a COVID-19 crisis in the country.

KAMI learned that Wowie has started conducting online Zumba sessions through Facebook and Zoom.

In a report by the GMA News Online, the matinee idol shared his experience during an interview with 24 Oras.

“Nag-umpisa kami sa Facebook hanggang sa, ayan na nga, sa Zoom nagkaroon na,” he said.

He also shared how he is trying to adapt to the “new normal” as he continues being a Zumba instructor.

"And then, fast forward ngayon, siguro ika-third na naming na mayroon kaming regular class sa aming private Facebook group every other day. Kasi karamihan ng regular attendees ng Zumba, talagang hinahanap din nila,” he added.

According to Wowie, those who regularly attended his Zumba sessions would send him inspirational messages.

“Lagi silang nagme-message ng mga very inspirational na mga mensahe na 'pag sinabi nila na, 'Natutulungan n'yo kami na kahit papano, nawawala 'yung inip namin,' napakalaking bagay 'yon,” he said.

Jeffrey Camangyan or Wowie de Guzman is a dancer and actor. He was once paired up with Judy Ann Santos and they starred in shows like Mara Clara and Esperanza.

He was married to Sheryl Ann Reyes who passed away in 2014, a month after she gave birth to their daughter, Alex Rafealle.
