- A sketch showing Angel Locsin in a plus-size “Darna” costume recently went viral online
- The person who drew the said artwork made it clear that he meant no offense when he posted it
- Rita Avila did not agree with the fact that the artist uploaded the sketch without Angel’s permission
- The name of Angel can be seen in the list of people who liked the post of Rita
Rita Avila recently criticized the viral artwork of a Filipino graphic artist that showed how Angel Locsin will look like in a “plus-size” costume.
KAMI learned that the said sketch became the talk of the town on social media because it was posted just after some photos showing the actress’ curvy figure circulated online.
Although the person who created the artwork meant no offense with his masterpiece, Rita still claimed that he should have asked Angel’s permission before he uploaded it.
The “Super Ma'am” cast member even sent a message to the artist’s friend, explaining that people in the Philippines have “malicious take” when talking about body shapes.
“Best if it was shown first to Angel and was asked if she agrees to have it posted. Di ba, as respect to a lady, we refuse to say directly na ‘ang taba mo’? By all means, post it after Angel gives a nod…” Rita quipped.
“Respect matters… The artist will always have his/her own perception of his work. And there will be billions of other perceptions that can bring pain or shame to someone being the subject,” she added through the caption of her post.
Although Angel did not give any comment about the stand of her fellow actress, her name can be seen in the list of people who liked the post.
In a previous article by KAMI, a childhood photo of Angel immediately captured the attention of many social media users.
Angel Locsin is an award-winning Filipino actress. Many people idolize her not only for her excellent acting skills but also because of her willingness to help the poor.
