The latest study on patients of COVID-19 revealed that the disease can also damage the brain.

Data was gathered between April 2 and April 26 in Britain. It was during this time that the disease was spreading exponentially in the country.

Out of the possible brain-related illnesses, 77 out of 125 patients suffered from a stroke. They were mostly over 60 and a blood clot in the brain was identified.

There were 39 of the 125 patients who exhibited confusion or changes in behavior.

Others suffered from encephalitis or inflammation of the brain and there were also those who had other types of brain dysfunction.

Benedict Michael, a co-researcher from Liverpool University, noted that the study, published in the Lancet Psychiatry, focused on severe cases.
