President Rodrigo Duterte got frank during his televised address on Monday night amid the COVID-19 crisis in the country.
KAMI learned that according to President Duterte, Cebuanos are too slow when it comes to complying with the health protocols against the coronavirus disease.
In a report by the GMA News Online, President Duterte said that this was not the first time that Cebu was too slow with responding to a national emergency.
Ang titigas ng ulo ninyo," he said.
"This is not the first time. This is not the first national emergency na mabagal kumilos ang mga Cebuano.
President Duterte also said that the Cebuanos are too complacent, that was why the COVID-19 cases in Cebu are increasing.
"Bakit marami? Because you were too confident and too complacent about it. Binalewala niyo," Duterte said.
Therefore, President Duterte ordered Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu to go to Cebu and assess the COVID-19 situation in the city.
As of posting time, there are 3,733 COVID-19 cases in Cebu City. The enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) was extended in the city as well.
