- President Rodrigo Duterte announced that Cebu will revert to Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) status due to its high number of COVID-19 cases
- Starting June 16, the Queen of the South would be under ECQ
- As for Manila, it will remain under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status until June 30
- He also outlined areas that would be under the Modified General Community Quarantine or MGCQ

President Rodrigo Duterte announced during his Talk to the People Address on June 15 the statuses of different provinces in relation to the lockdown.
As per his pronouncements, Cebu City will revert to ECQ due to the rising number of new cases as well as the widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the community. In less than seven days, cases have doubled and there was a significant increase in the use of critical care facilities as against the critical care capacity.
One component city, Talisay City, was placed under MECQ for the same reasons. On the other hand, Metro Manila remains to be under GCQ.
Below are the other places under GCQ:
Region II - Cagayan, Isabella, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Santiago City
Region III - Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Olongapo City, Tarlac
Region IV-A - Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, Rizal
Occidental Mindoro was likewise placed under GCQ.
Visayas (Region VII) - Bohol, Cebu, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor
Mindanao - Davao City and Zamboanga City
The remaining parts of the country are under MGCQ.

In a previous report by KAMI, the government faced problems when they imposed the initial community quarantine, which was elevated into enhanced community quarantine. It also suspended transportation causing massive problems with commuters.
The COVID-19 outbreak started out in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China. Scientists believed that the virus came from an animal at one of Wuhan's wet markets. The Philippines has slowly eased quarantine measures and Filipinos are starting to adapt to the new normal.
