Ai-Ai delas decided to show her appreciation to Sen. Joel Villanueva because of his stand on the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) directive, urging owners of online shops to register their businesses and pay the required taxes until July 31.
KAMI learned that the veteran actress and comedienne posted on Instagram a screenshot of an art card showing the politician’s statement opposing the BIR’s latest directive.
“Pasalamat nga tayo at madiskarte ang mga Pilipino. Wala na ngang ayuda, ita-tax niyo pa. Hindi naman milyon ang kinikita ng maliliit na online sellers,” Villanueva said in a statement.
“Dapat tutukan ng BIR ang POGO na may utang na P50B na tax last year pa. Ngayong COVID-19, pwede bang kapakanan ng mga kababayang Pilipino muna natin ang manguna?” he also said.
Ai-Ai then echoed the senator’s stance in the caption of her post.
“Para po sa aming mga malilit na on line seller sa panahon ng covid ginagawa namin to kasama ng mga iba nating kababayan na wala naman ayuda at walang trabaho to survive sa pang araw araw ng buhay .. wag nyo na sanang isipan na i tax .. salamat po ...” she wrote.
