G Tongi has recently revealed the reason why she left showbiz and chose to live in America.

In an episode of Kapuso online talk show na "Just In", interviewer Vaness del Moral asked G., “90's ‘it girl’, dire-diretso, tuloy-tuloy ang projects. Sobrang sikat na sikat. Why leave and stop showbiz?”

She then responded, "That's a hard question Vaness because I didn't understand it 20 years ago when I left. But now that I am older I understand that there were things that just didn't feel right."

"Ang ibig sabihin lang nu'n maski sikat ka, may trabaho ka, kumikita ka, 'pag alam mo na hindi 'yon 'yung mga bagay na nagpu-fulfill sa'yo... It wasn't material, it wasn't superficial. It was I didn't understand the disparity in the Philippines on why ang daming naghihirap tapos ang daming palaging umaalis ng bansa."

"Even though I was doing well, it broke my heart that the conditions were so harsh. And I don't think things have changed," G explained.

Vaness even turned emotional while hearing G’s answers.

"It's hard to walk away, Vaness. It's hard to walk away,” she continued.

“I did it Vaness but let me tell you though, I gave a lot up. And do I regret it? I won't deny, sometimes I do. 'Pag iniisip ko, 'Ay wala akong bahay na sarili. Wala akong ganito, wala akong ganyan.' Naisip ko rin 'yun, pero 'yun ba ang importante? Ano ba talaga ang importante? It's different for everybody.”

“There's this analogy, you're caught in between a hard place, a rock and a hard place. Diba kasi gusto mong magkaroon ng change. Gusto mo mag-benefit lahat ng tao, pero ayaw mong maging difficult,” she said.

“And trust me, I've gotten into so much trouble dahil ang dami kong pinagsasabi,” she added. “So what happened? I may not have been given more opportunities because I was vocal.”
