- As per Cong. Vilma, she said that she was in favor of the bill but with reservations, citing her concern about the country's national security policy

Luis Manzano took to Twitter in order to explain the stand of his mother, Cong. Vilma Santos on the Anti-Terrorism Bill.
Cong. Santos was among those who voted "yes" on the Anti-Terrorism Bill.
The actor, who must have received tons of questions regarding his mother's vote, posted the stand of Cong. Vi on the controversial House Bill 6875, which legal experts, like Atty. Mel Sta. Maria, have frowned upon, especially on the measure which will not give "suspected" terrorists the right to due process.
As per Luis' post, his mother said:
"I am not a principal author of House Bill 6875. I'm in favor of it WITH RESERVATIONS. I have concern about the country's national security policy. I just hope that the law enforcement agencies will implement it in accordance with the Constitution, full respect to human rights and without abuse whatsoever..."

The Anti-Terrorism Bill is a controversial bill due to the provisions on warrantless arrest. Justice Carpio cited Section 29 which authorizes the anti-terror council to order the arrest and detention of those who are suspected terrorists.
In a previous KAMI report, Taylor Swift slammed the President's Anti-Terrorism Bill. Other actors and actresses have also expressed their opposition against it.
