GMA-7 writer shares tax payment comparison between ABS-CBN and her network

A writer in the Kapuso network proudly shared on social media a photo that showed the comparison of the tax payments of ABS-CBN and her home network.
KAMI learned that despite posting the said comparison, Suzette Doctolero clarified that she supports the rival network in its efforts to air again on television.
Based on the much-talked-about post of the said employee, GMA-7 paid higher tax than ABS-CBN for three consecutive years.

In 2017, her network paid 1.09 billion pesos to the government, compared with the 421 million pesos that the other media giant paid.
The Kapuso network maintained paying more than a billion pesos last year, while Kapamilya network only paid 152 million pesos.
Suzette stated that she is proud that her network has gained integrity when it comes to paying taxes.
“Lilinawin ko: gusto kong magbalik ang ABS-CBN kasi gusto ko na may kumpetisyon. Boring ang wala. Di na masaya. At di healthy. Mas gusto kong manalo na may kalaban,” she quipped.
“Di ko alam kung bakit ganito ang figures nung sa kabila, nakakapagtaka nga naman pero ‘di ako accountant kaya ayokong ianalisa. Bahala kayo diyan. Pero proud ako bilang kapuso. Kasi may integredad sa pagbabayad ng tax ang kompanya ko,” she added.

ABS-CBN was ordered to shut down on May 4 after failing to secure another 25-year license. Many people have been appealing to the government to allow the network to resume broadcast operations.
