Vice President Leni Robredo backs the plan of President Rodrigo Duterte not to allow the opening of classes in August if a vaccine for COVID-19 will not be available by then.
KAMI learned that the spokesperson of VP Robredo, Atty. Barry Gutierrez, also noted that Robredo also wishes for inclusive and effective systems that would pave the way for a better homeschooling process, as per Manila Bulletin.
Philstar reported that Robredo emphasized that the health and safety of Filipino children must come first.
The President categorically stated during a public address Monday that he "will not allow the opening of classes where students will be closely next to each other... For me, a vaccine should come first. If there’s a vaccine, then it will be okay," as per Inquirer's report.
