Willie Revillame recently admitted that he was spending huge amount of money per month just to keep his variety program “Wowowin” on air.
KAMI learned that the prominent television host confessed that it was not easy sustaining a show that gives cash prizes to its contestants.
He disclosed that when the said show premiered on TV in 2015, all the production costs came from his pocket during the first few months.
He recalled spending about 14 million a month just to sustain the show and continue bringing joy and hope to its viewers.
Willie also stated that there was a time when he told the executives of GMA-7 to ax “Wowowin” because he was already running out of money.
“Hindi po ako kinuha ng GMA para maging talent. Ako ho ang nag-produce ng Wowowin for how many days, for how many months. Ilang buwan lang, medyo mabigat na kasi walang commercials, wala kaming marketing,” he quipped,
“Hanggang sa sinabi ko sa GMA, ihihinto ko na, wala na akong pera. I’m spending about P14 million a month, yun ang ginagastos, sarili kong pera yun. Laki na ho nagagastos ko, walang bumabalik. Ganoon talaga eh…” he added.
In a previous article by KAMI, a contestant on the online game show of Willie suddenly cursed the veteran host.
