A call center agent in the Philippines willingly shared his rags-to-riches story to the public through an exclusive interview with KAMI.

Ian Carlo Riñosa, a 31-year-old resident of Makati City, initially admitted that he experienced a lot of failures before he was able to reach his current status.

He revealed that he failed the board exam for medicine thrice and he started doubting his capabilities since then.

However, his dream of becoming a successful person remained in his mind that was why he decided to apply as a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) worker.

He then began investing his money in stocks and he found out that the interest rate was way higher than what banks offer.

In 2014, he and his wife were able to purchase a condominium unit worth 1.1 million pesos. Ian disclosed that the 2020 value of the said property is now 3.6 million pesos.

He also allotted the rest of his savings to the hotel business of his friend, and he eventually became the co-owner of the commercial building with 50 rooms.

“Para sa mga call center [agents], wag mawalan ng pag-asa kahit nandito lang tayo sa industry na ‘to, hindi tayo considered as highly-paid professionals… Follow your dreams… Kung saan ka passionate. If you fail, okay lang yun kasi diyan ka matututo,” he quipped.

“Yung Ian noon, walang bumibilib sa akin. Walang naniniwala sa akin na magiging successful ako. Sa dami ng naging failures ko… So wala talagang maniniwala na mararating ko yung kung ano ako ngayon. Ako lang yung naniwala sa sarili ko,” he added.
