An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease was already found in Quezon City after escaping the quarantine facility.

KAMI learned that the said person was among the repatriated migrant workers who fled from their designated quarantine facility despite being told to isolate themselves for 14 days.

According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the 49-year-old resident of Quezon City has made contact with his relatives and other individuals after he skipped isolation.

All of the people who got in contact with him have been tested already and are now undergoing mandatory quarantine.

The spokesman of PCG stated that all the OFWs who fled from the designated facility for isolation will face charges for compromising the health of other people.

“They shall be arrested and shall face charges for violating quarantine protocols and for compromising the health and safety of their families and communities,” said Armando Balilo, the spokesperson of PCG.
