The number of patients who have recovered from the novel coronavirus disease in the Philippines has ballooned to more than 2 thousand already.
KAMI learned of the said information when the Department of Health (DOH) announced the updated statistics today, May 13.
There are 145 new survivors today, bringing the total number to 2,251.
However, according to the health department, there are 21 more people who died because of the dreadful disease.
The COVID-19 death toll in the country has reached 772.
With regard to the new confirmed cases, the DOH said that 268 people have been infected with the virus, bringing the total number of cases to 11,618.
In a previous article by KAMI, a vaccine candidate for COVID-19 received an approval to proceed to the second phase of clinical trials.
It was in January this year when the Philippines had its first case of the novel coronavirus disease. A few weeks after, the mainland Luzon was put in “community quarantine” or lockdown.
