- Robredo also clarified that big-scale markets will not be allowed to join in the app delivery service
The Office of the Vice President is set to launch an app-based delivery service to help the vendors sell their products online.
KAMI learned that small-scale vendors will the ones who will benefit from the app.
As reported by the Inquirer (authored by Darryl John Esguerra), aside from the vendors, tricycle drivers will also receive aid from the app.
For now, 10 tricycle drivers will be allowed by the Quezon City local government to deliver the goods to the customers.
“The concept is you will download an app on your phones and order online. Then someone will receive it in the market. Then it will be delivered to you on the same day, but the tricycle drivers will deliver your purchase,” Robredo said.
“It will not compete with existing online markets because this is just for the smaller ones. Big-scale markets will not be allowed to join,” she added.
A dry-run of the delivery of products happened last Saturday at Kamuning Market in Quezon City.
In a previous report by KAMI, Vice President Robredo aired her thoughts regarding the closure of TV network ABS-CBN.
Leni Robredo is the current and 14th Vice President of the Philippines. She is also the widow of late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo.
