Kapuso star and Wowowin host Willie Revillame recently recounted where he started his career in the showbiz industry as well as how he became a Kapuso.

In one of the latest episodes of Wowowin, KAMI learned that the Kapuso host began as a sidekick.

According to Willie, "Nagsimula po ako sa GMA sa Lunch Date at syempre kasama ko diyan si Kuya Randy, isang sidekick.

"Kapag lumalabas yung Super Suman niya, pag binubugbog, ako yun. Kapag umusok na, lalabas yun si Kuya Randy, naka-brief siya ng S, Super Suman."

In an article written by GMA News, the celebrity Willie was referring to was comedian and actor, Randy Santiago.

The Kapuso host then revealed how much he was paid for his role as a sidekick in Lunch Date, "So nagsimula po ako sa Lunch Date, ang bayad po sakin 150.

"Binobola ko si Elvis, "gawin mo na akong 300" naging 200, naging 250, hanggang nawala na po ako dahil naging drummer po ako noon."

Aside from this, Willie revealed that no one knew he would be signing a contract with GMA and that when he visited the company, they were shocked to find out he went there to be a Kapuso once again.

Willie and his show under GMA-7, Wowowin, is celebrating their fifth anniversary today, May 10. The variety game show premiered its first episode back on May 10, 2015.

As reported earlier by KAMI, Wowowin’s supposed grand celebration for its upcoming 5th anniversary on May 10 may not happen because of the current lockdown. On the other hand, the show’s host Willie Revillame announced that he has generous prizes for the show’s viewers.
