A father and son duo was arrested for the murder of a man after a video showed the final moments of the victim while jogging along the street.
KAMI learned that the father, Gregory McMichael, was a former law enforcement officer at the local district attorney.
In a report by the CBS News Gregory and his son Travis McMichael confronted unarmed 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery while he was jogging along the Brunswick, Georgia on February 23.
The video went viral on social media and caused outrage from the netizens. It can be seen in the video that the father and son approached Arbery in their pickup truck.
Travis was seen getting out of the truck and scuffling with Arbery. He, later on, shot Arbery, then the victim collapsed and passed away.
According to the report of the New York Post, the McMichaels told the police that they believed Arbery was a thief that had been frequenting the neighborhood.
As reported by the Daily Mail UK, officials from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) arrested Gregory and Travis from their house after they were charged with murder and aggravated assault.
