Number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbs to 8,772

- The Department of Health posted on social media the updated statistics of COVID-19 in the Philippines

- It was reported that the total number of confirmed cases is now 8,772

- There were 284 people who have recently contracted the disease and tested positive for the virus

- Meanwhile, the number of recoveries climbed to 1,084

The number of novel coronavirus cases in the Philippines has now reached 8,772.

KAMI learned that the said information was confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) through a social media post.

Based on the statistics, there are 284 new confirmed cases of the said virus that were recorded today, May 1.

The said number was higher than the 276 and 254 cases that were tallied on April 30 and April 29, respectively.

Meanwhile, the total number of recoveries has ballooned to 1,084 after the health department reported 41 new recoveries today.

Unfortunately, there are 11 patients who succumbed to the novel coronavirus, bringing the total number of fatalities to 579.
